To wash your beautiful hair, you can follow these general steps:

1. Detangle the wig

Before washing, gently comb or brush the wig to remove any tangles or knots. Use a wide-tooth comb or a wig brush designed for synthetic or human hair wigs.

2. Prepare the washing solution

Fill a basin or sink with cool or lukewarm water. If your wig is synthetic, its best to use a wig shampoo specifically formulated for synthetic hair. For human hair wigs, you can use a mild shampoo or a shampoo specifically made for human hair, like the ones I use on the link below.

3. Submerge the wig

Place the wig in the basin or sink and gently submerge it in the water. Gently swish the wig back and forth to distribute the shampoo throughout the strands. Avoid rubbing or twisting the wig, as this can cause damage.

4. Clean the wig

Use your fingertips to gently massage the shampoo into the wig’s fibres. Pay attention to areas that may have accumulated oils, such as the cap or the nape of the wig. Be gentle to avoid tangling or damaging the wig.

5. Rinse the wig

Drain the soapy water and refill the basin or sink with clean water. Submerge the wig and gently swish it around to remove any remaining shampoo. Repeat this rinsing process until the water runs clear and there is no shampoo residue left in the wig.

6. Condition the wig (optional)

If your wig is human hair, you can apply a small amount of conditioner specifically formulated for human hair wigs. Leave the conditioner on for a few minutes, then rinse it out thoroughly.

7. Pat dry with a towel

Gently squeeze out excess water from the wig with your towel, but avoid rubbing or wringing it. Place the wig on a clean towel and gently pat it dry to remove the remaining moisture.

8. Air dry the wig

Place the wig on a wig stand or a clean, dry towel in a well-ventilated area. I usually put mine outside in the shade. If you can, avoid using heat sources such as hair dryers or direct sunlight, as they can damage the wig. Allow the wig to air dry completely before styling or wearing it.

9. Style the wig

Once the wig is completely dry, you can style it as desired using a wig brush or comb. For synthetic wigs, use heat styling tools designed for synthetic hair, as regular styling tools may cause damage. Please remember my high heat fibre synthetic hair wigs can take up to approximately 150 degrees of heat

Remember to always check the manufacturer’s instructions or care guidelines specific to your wig, as different types of wigs may have different care requirements. However, when washing MY wigs, that you have purchased from this website; this is how I suggest you do it for them to have the longest wig life possible.
